Meet Brandon Hutchins: Untold’s Newest U.S. Board of Director

Untold's U.S. Board of Directors is the governing body of Untold. Board members support Untold in many ways from offering advice drawn from their own diverse experience and expertise and advocating for the mission and vision of Untold. Members commit to a three-year term, traveling to Africa within their first term of service, supporting Untold within their top giving priorities, and serving as ambassadors for Untold within their sphere of influence.

Brandon Hutchins, alongside his wife, Nancy, and their four children, has watched their relationship with Untold deepen since first learning about the ministry over a decade ago. He is now stepping into a position on Untold's U.S. Board of Directors. We're excited to see what God has planned for Brandon in this new role, and to share more of his story below.

Brandon and his wife Nancy have been married for 28 years and live in West Cobb County, Georgia. They have four grown children,  two married, one at Georgia Tech, and one about to start his junior year of high school, plus two young grandchildren. Brandon and Nancy helped start Stone Bridge Church in 2006, and have been part of that community for 20 years.

By training, Brandon is an industrial engineer, a graduate of Georgia Tech, and spent several years in consulting with Ernst & Young before joining his stepfather Johnny Gaskins' civil engineering and surveying company. He expected to stay only a couple of years. Instead, he's been there for more than two decades becoming president in 2006 and later co-owner in 2010, after the company weathered his stepfather's ALS diagnosis and a recession that shrank the business from 100 employees to 18.

Brandon credits a season of leadership coaching and a small group through the Fellowship of Companies for Christ International with reshaping how he leads. Out of that season came a clear sense of purpose: to be, as he puts it, a pastor at work leading with intentionality and genuine care for people. The company he leads has grown substantially since, and Brandon now supports specifically on Georgia operations.

Partnering with Untold

Brandon and Nancy first learned about Untold (then Care for AIDS) around 2013 through friends. What drew them in, Brandon says, wasn't just the mission but how the organization carried it out. He was struck by the intentionality behind Untold's work: the holistic approach to healing clients physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and the deliberate, well-planned strategy for expanding into new communities and transitioning out once milestones are met.

Over the years, that connection deepened through friendships with Untold's leaders and fellow board members — several of whom, it turned out, Brandon had known for years through church, business, and community circles long before their shared involvement with Untold.

When the opportunity came up earlier this year to join the board, Brandon says the conversation felt natural. A chance to ask how he could serve an organization he already loved.

Brandon describes himself as analytical, financially minded, and protective by nature — the kind of person friends turn to for help managing their finances. He hopes to bring that same steady, detail-oriented perspective to the board, helping ensure Untold remains a good steward of the resources entrusted to it. At the same time, he's approaching this season with humility, expecting to spend his early days listening and learning from a group with deep experience.

Asked how he'd encourage others to get involved with Untold, Brandon points to something simple: exposure. He's found that most people who take the time to learn about Untold's work come away wanting to do more. His hope for his own time on the board is that it deepens the ministry's impact and helps Untold continue faithfully stewarding the work God has entrusted to it.

Welcome to the board, Brandon! On behalf of the whole team, we're grateful to have you.
