What is an Impact Trip?

We love getting to invite you to be a part of our work in person in East and South Africa.
Our Impact Trips are opportunities to step into life with our clients and African staff. Simply put, this trip will have an impact—on you as well as those you will meet in country. While in Africa, you will have the opportunity to meet the men and women who are most directly impacted by the Untold program.

Why do we call it an Impact Trip?

OUR STAFF | These men and women are the heart and soul of Untold, and they are deeply impacted by having people come to support and encourage their work.

OUR CLIENTS | Our program is designed to embrace and equip people to live a life beyond AIDS. Many of our clients and their families have experienced stigma and shame because of their HIV status, but your presence and partnership helps affirm their inherent dignity and worth.

OUR PARTNER CHURCHES | The churches and pastors we partner with are doing ministry in areas of extreme poverty and need. Our teams refresh them by encouraging them, worshiping with them, and hosting events and trainings for the church.

YOU | After this trip, you will be changed. You will have a new understanding of and compassion for people living with HIV/AIDS. You will build friendships with people in East Africa and others on the team that will continue beyond our return. You will also have the opportunity to experience the beauty of the East African wilderness. You will never be the same!

  • Every trip is different, but our Logistics Coordinator will have your group’s specific itinerary planned for you. She will also help facilitate booking your flights, all accommodations relating to the Impact Trip, and transportation between locations while in country. You will be provided with all the necessary information you need to prepare ahead of your trip. Our staff will guide you through making sure you get everything you need ahead of the trip.

  • We get that it might be overwhelming to think about traveling to Africa. While every trip is unique to the group and location where you travel, we have these sample itineraries to get an idea of what your trip might look like.
