Board of Directors Spotlight: Dr. Daniel Byamukama

Dr. Daniel Byamukama is the Head of HIV Prevention at the Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC) and serves as Chair of Untold’s Ugandan Board. In this capacity, he also contributes to Untold’s Global Advisory Board, which integrates leadership from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, and the U.S.

Since joining Untold’s Ugandan Board in 2020, Dr. Byamukama has infused the organization with nearly two decades of medical and public health experience. A dedicated physician, he has guided Uganda’s HIV prevention programming during a transformative era. Under his leadership, Uganda has made significant strides in its HIV response strategy.

As a husband and father of four, he is now preparing to transition his role as Uganda Board Chair to new leadership, but his influence at Untold is enduring.
